Early Birds – Book now
Saturday 14 December 2019 | 08.00 – 11.00
Early Birds is a sensory-friendly event for families with children (ages 4 -15) who need a quieter environment to enjoy the museum.
Doors will open at 08.00 and activities will run until 11.00.
Saturday 25 January 2020 | 10.30 – 16.00
VIscovery days enable families with members who are visually impaired, partially sighted or blind to enjoy events around the museum that are specially designed for them.
The next Viscovery Day will take place on Saturday 25 January 2020 and be themed around our ‘Top Secret’ exhibition. Tickets are free but booking is essential – booking will open on Wednesday 11 December at 10:00.
Audio Described Tours
Available to book now
Visually impaired, partially sighted or blind visitors can now take audio-described tours of our most popular galleries. Our volunteer guides deliver a regular programme of audio-described tours of our permanent galleries including: Exploring Space, Mathematics, Information Age and Flight.
If you would like to plan an audio-described tour, please contact the volunteer team at least three weeks before your visit so that a volunteer guide can be arranged.

Mobiloo – Changing spaces toilet
Saturday 14 December | 08.00 – 11.00
Mobiloo is the world’s first attended, mobile changing toilet and changing facility for disabled people who cannot use a standard accessible toilet. It has a tail-lift, a full x/y electronic hoist, height-adjustable changing table, toilet, sink and waste disposal, gloves, wipes, and all the consumables necessary.
The Mobiloo will be available outside the Science Museum Groups entrance on Imperial College Road, from 08.00-11.00 on the 14 December for visitors to the South Kensington area.Find out more – Mobiloo
